Foundations and Underpinning

At Dunmow Ground Design, we humbly own over 25 years' experience in concrete foundation installation and repair. We offer a complete package of commercial and residential foundation solutions including underpinning, piling, structural rafts, digging out and new build foundations.

Underpinning is a system that transfers the load of a distressed structure to a suitable bearing stratum below ground. It takes into account the possible effects of ground heave or subsidence. Underpinning necessitates close attention and consideration to design, methodology and safety procedures.

When Is Underpinning Required?

• When a building is subsiding
• Fountains and pumping systems
• When a building is suffering from ground heave
• When the foundations of the building need to be lowered into the ground, normally to allow excavation below the original foundation depth, for example basement construction
